University of Management and Technology seeks applications for a full time User’s Services Librarian (Library Officer) for Learning Resource Center (Library). This position is responsible for providing research assistance to faculty and students as well as assisting with instructions, information services, designing, managing and supervising innovative services and other comparable duties as required.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide learning, reference, and research assistance to students, faculty and other library patrons for research and general interest purposes using both standard and electronic library and information resources;
Assist students & faculty in the use of Turnitin and Endnote , both in the library, off campus and in a classroom setting;
Assist librarians in the maintenance of library resources and collections;
Assist as needed with collection development, circulation, and other aspects of the library operations;
Undertake special projects related to operations of the Library as required.
Managing digital Resources/Institutional Repository in D-Space/Greenstone/E-prints etc.
Expertise in managing open access library software, e.g. Koha/Lims etc.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Masters of Library and Information Science with at least three years of relevant experience or M-Phil in Library and Information Science with one year of experience in a reputed organization required;
Previous experience in an academic setting and/ or library preferred;
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication (oral, written, and online) skills;
Strong public services orientation with excellent customer service skills;
Ability and desire to relate to and work well with a diverse student, faculty, staff, and community population;
Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
Able to learn quickly and take initiative;
